Funeral services for Gerald Stanley “Stan” Waters, 83, will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Gloster Trinity Cemetery, Jessie Latin Rd., in Gloster, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Watson.
Stan was born on August 3, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Frank and Mary Waters and passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Shreveport.
Stan was a resident of Shreveport where he attended Northwestern College and served in the United States Army. He was married for 60 years to his wife, Sandra Waters. Stan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He was a bass player for over 66 years and a member of the Flashback Band for seven years. He was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church for 50 years.
Stan is preceded in death by his father, Frank Waters and mother, Mary Waters; son, Jerry Waters; and brother, William Waters. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandy Waters; sons, Michael Waters (Donna), and Daren Waters (Traci), 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cheryl Allen.
Honoring Stan as pallbearers will be Tyler Waters, Andrew Peden, Kyle Waters, Benny Gasper, Jr., Daniel Gasper, and Brian Gasper. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Waters, James Willis and the Flashback Band.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
