Gerald James "Jerry" Williams, 81, passed away on December 8, 2024.
He is survived by his sister Donna DeHoog (Casey), niece Lindsay Berteau (Lee), nephew Cory Sarvis (Rebekah), great-niece Parker, and great-nephews Holden, Cohen, August, and Henry. He was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Williams and his mother Marjorie "Margie" Williams.
Born in Reserve, LA on February 16, 1943, Jerry was a graduate of Leon Godchaux High School in 1966. The best years of his life were working at the St. John Parish Sheriff's Office where he loved both his job and his coworkers.
Jerry loved old movies and old music, especially Roy Rogers, Fats Domino, and Elvis Presley, and particularly enjoyed the chance to visit Graceland and the Roy Rogers Museum in Branson. He loved playing cards and watching football, especially the LSU Tigers.
He also enjoyed cooking, having won 3rd place in the gumbo cooking contest at the St. John the Baptist Andouille Festival in 2007. Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was proud to be honored as Knight of the Year in 2016.
Jerry had a heart of gold and helped anyone around him in need. He was blessed with many friends and will be missed dearly, especially his sister Donna with whom he had a special bond.
