Beloved husband of 55 years to Sandra Gendron Ratcliff. Loving father of Felicia Ratcliff Cambre (Kenny) and Rhett Dayton Ratcliff (Cigi). Grandfather "Boo" to Mila Ratcliff. Son of the late Jasper Dayton Ratcliff and Ruby Estelle Henderson Ratcliff. Brother of the late Annette Ratcliff Nettles. Son-in-law of the late Dowie and Annabelle Gendron. Brother-in-law of Anne Iris Terrio (Barry), Nancy Holmes (Barry), Gerrie Cox (Henry), Dowie Gendron II, David Gendron and the late Glenda Arcuri (Len) and Sundy Fitch. Also survived by longtime hunting buddy, Daniel "Magoo" Migliore, and by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service to immediately follow at 12:00 p.m.

So very sorry to hear of JD's passing. Prayers and sympathy to the family of a truly nice fellow. JD was one of the very first people I worked with and trained under at DuPont. His patience , compassion and willingness to help me anytime just proved the kind of man he was. Always a fun time with him on or off the job. We enjoyed many of the same type of things. I will always fondly remember our hunting and fishing times we spent together. I truly regret not seeing him over the past few years. I ask God to bless & be with Mrs Sandra and his family at this time.

My Sympathy to JD's family. It was a pleasure to work together with him in the laboratory at Dupont. It was also fun to talk sports and fishing with him at Planet Fitness. I will truly miss him.
