Geraldine "Jerry" Anderson, 79, of Cañon City, passed away August 4, 2025, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs after a brave battle against a sudden illness. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Jerry was born in Hays, KS on August 7, 1945, to Gorden Dale Farr and Cecilia Bernadine Farr (Weisner), and graduated from Garden City High School.Jerry & Arthur "Butch" Anderson were married in Gargen City, KS in 1963. Jerry raised 5 boys to grade school age before going to work as county clerk and then probation officer for Kearny County and as bookkeeper for Kearny County Feeders in Lakin, KS. After moving to Cañon City, Jerry was office manager at Saint Scholastica School, of six companies for Ary Brothers, and retired as bookkeeper for Mueller & Associates.

Family, church, and community service were important to Jerry. She played the organ at mass (while tending 5 boys under 8) and was active in altar society. She was a master of knitting (specialty in horsehead sweaters) and never missed a sporting event for her 5 boys (without hysterically running onto the field of play when a boy was injured). Jerry was integral to founding the Emmaus House in Garden City, KS and volunteered with Orchard of hope in Cañon City helping others battle cancer until she passed.

Jerry is survived by her husband, Butch Anderson; brother, Brad (Beth) Farr; sister, Mary Beth Farr; 5 sons, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Sons: David (Vivian Simon) Anderson, Leon (Trisha) Anderson, Michael (Kim) Anderson, Cy (Junko) Anderson, and Ty (Jennifer) Anderson. Grandchildren: Zachary (Samantha), Alex (Kacey), Juliana (Andrew Selbicky), William, Samuel, Mitchell (Bekah Espino), Stephanie, Paige (Isaac Sawyer), Kayleen (Dominic Sorrenti), Seki, Kenji, Jordan (Susanna), Benjamin, and Simon. Great grandchildren: Charles, Jacklyn, Hendrix, Marleigh, Milo, Arthur, Halsey, Aubrey, Oaklynn, Mateo, Oliver, Rosie, and Robert. Jerry was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Farr.
