Mrs. Geraldine (Moriarty) Anderson, of Weymouth, passed away on September 22, 2025. She was 92.

Gerry was born in Dorchester in 1933, shortly after her family endured the loss of her father. Her mother, Mary—a woman of quiet resilience and unwavering devotion—instilled in her children the values of perseverance, compassion, and mutual support. Gerry held deep admiration for her mother and shared a close bond with her brothers, John and Daniel. She often spoke with heartfelt affection about her Dorchester neighborhood, describing it as a true community where neighbors felt like family.

Gerry carried those early lessons of strength and connection into adulthood. She eventually married John Anderson of Weymouth, and together they made their home in Braintree, where they lovingly raised five children. John often credited Gerry for the grace and strength with which their children were brought up, while she insisted it was always a team effort. As her children grew, Gerry reentered the workforce, beginning as a teller at Quincy Savings Bank and steadily rising to the role of manager—a testament to her diligence and integrity.

Daughter of the late John Moriarty and Mary (O’Connor) Moriarty.

Beloved wife of 47 years to the late John Anderson of Weymouth.

Loving mother to Robert Anderson and his wife Sonia of California; the late Paul Anderson of Weymouth; William Anderson and his wife Donna of Braintree; James Anderson and his wife Cindy of Weymouth; and Tricia Zwicker and her husband Ken of Weymouth.

Adoring grandmother to Brenna, Mackenzie, Madison, John Paul, Colin, Duncan, and Kyle, and great-nana to Makenna and Remington.

Sister of the late John and Daniel Moriarty.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Gerry will be remembered for her quiet strength and determination, her unwavering devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to every room. Her love and wisdom continue to live on in each of them.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 10/5/2025 from 11AM -2 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by her Funeral Service at 2 PM
