Geraldine "Gerry" (Kleaving) George, 93, of Tell City, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare in Tell City.
She was born in Tell City, on January 14, 1930, to Henry B. and Nora A. (Brinksneader) Kleaving. Gerry was a 1948 graduate of Tell City High School. She was united in marriage to Charles "Junie" George on April 23, 1949, and together they were blessed with 69 beautiful years.
Gerry was employed at General Electric and retired after 40 years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Post 213 and the VFW Post 2939 Auxiliary. Gerry enjoyed taking care of her home and she loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Shirley) George Sr. of Lee, NY, Victoria (William) Gebhard of Tell City, Lee Ann (Ron) Riley of Tell City, and Scott Neil (Kelly) George of Derby; eight grandchildren, Gregory O. George, Charles D. George Jr., Ange' Lee Pruitt, Tara Lynn Briggeman, Nathan Allen Riley, Cassandra Michelle Riley, Brooke Nicole Zellers, Clinton Neil George; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, a daughter Cynthia Kay and her siblings, Lavern Zuelly, Marcellinus Kleaving, Delbert Kleaving, Kenneth Kleaving,Velma Dickman and Erlus Mae Snyder.
Funeral Services will be at 11a.m. Thursday, September 7, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Kolbe Wolniakowski officiating, burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm Wednesday, September 6, and from 9am to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
