Daniel Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Sep. 14, 2025.
Daniel Mack "Brownie" Brown, 65, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born to Elmer and Virginia "Ruth" (Scheler) Brown, Daniel was a 1978 graduate of Perry Central High School. He married the love of his life, Pam (Mullis) Brown, on October 17, 1981, and together they built a life full of love, hard work, and laughter.

Daniel retired from Corn Island Shipyard in 2020, after a long and dedicated career. Never one to sit still, he began a small cattle farm in retirement, where he found great joy in watching the calves play in the pasture. An avid deer hunter and outdoorsman, Daniel cherished his time in nature almost as much as he cherished time with his family.

He was a man who lived by his own rules and never let much slow him down. Known for his strong work ethic, creative ideas, and the occasional "sketchy" plan, he kept everyone on their toes and smiling. One of his favorite sayings, "The Great Wall wasn't built in a day," reflected the patience and determination with which he approached life.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Pam; children Jeremiah (Sarah) Brown, Will (Bethany) Brown, and Samantha (Jason) Claycomb; grandchildren Lily McCallister, Jacob and Lakin Claycomb, and Aaralyn, Aubrie, Walker, and Jack Brown; and brothers Rodger, Virgil, and Jay Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Sue Rogier, Patricia Brown, Tom Brown, and Gary Brown; and his son, Jacob Brown.

Daniel's legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his family - hard work, humor, resilience, and love.

Funeral Services will be at held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in German Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, and from 9:00am until service time Wednesday.
