Geraldine "Geri" Hatcher, age 72, of Centerline, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, surrounded by family in Royal Oak, Michigan. Geri was born on Sunday, August 31, 1952, to the late John and Lillian Lovchuk. She was a 1970 graduate of Stevenson High School and a successful nail technician not only because of her skill, but because of her fun, delightful, happy, compassionate personality.
Geri was a beautiful, vibrant, funny, fabulous cook, dancer, strong, loving, and smart woman. She loved giving advice on fashion, wearing make-up, encouraging family and friends to live life on life's terms. She also loved reading cookbooks, watching cooking shows, classic black and white movies but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Geri is an example of what strength, faith, and love are. She fought a battle with her health for 32 years. Although she struggled with pain, setbacks, and complications she never gave up. When you would see her or talk to her, you would never know any of these conditions existed. She would often say "It is what it is" and move forward. Geri was always the optimist and always putting others before herself.
Geri had an immense faith in God, the Catholic Church, Jesus, Mother Mary, and all the Saints. She believed in prayers, holy water, novenas, and scapulars. She believed in Heaven and knew she was going there. Geri was an Angel on Earth, and now she is with her eternal family and Christ.
Geri was loved by many, family, friends, co-workers, and clients.
Loving Mother of Laurie (Cary) Deal and James (Stephanie) Hatcher. Cherished Grandmother of Morgan, Brandon, Brenna, and Evan. Dear Sister to Christine (Gene) Parmentier, Jack Piercy and the late Barbara Piercy and Michael Lovchuk. Beloved partner of Joseph Mangano. Geri is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Godsons, and countless friends whom she often referred to as family.
Visitation Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2-8 pm at Ford Funeral Home, 26560 Van Dyke (South of 11 Mile Road or the I-696 expressway), Center Line, Michigan, with a Rosary at 6 pm. Instate Friday, November 22, 2024 from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass 10 am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church (St. Clement site), 25320 Van Dyke (North of 10 Mile Road) Center Line, Michigan with Fr. Missing you my sweet sister-friend. Comforted in the thought that you are pain free. Give hugs all around. Don't let Elsie B and Sharina beat you at poker. Love you forever Sharon Q.
