Geraldine Hill Hughes

Mrs. Geraldine Hill Hughes, 77, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1948, to the late Lewis Hill Sr. and Alberta Hill.

Geraldine accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for many years as an usher. Later in life, she and her husband united with Pine Bluff First Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastor Jordan Blann, where she remained a committed member until her passing.

She was a proud graduate of Southeast High School, Class of 1965, and went on to earn her degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (formerly Arkansas AM&N College).

At the time of her passing, she was united in marriage to Willie Lee Hughes of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Their union spanned over 60 years, marked by love, partnership, and devotion.

Following her college graduation, Mrs. Hughes dedicated over 20 years of service working at Sears and at the family-owned business Hughes Cabinet Shop, established in 1974.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Hill, Carlton Hill and Larry Hill. Three sisters Bobbie Hill Johnson, Martha Carr, and Carrie Manning.

She is survived by her husband Willie Lee Hughes, three children, Robert L. Hughes (Joy) of Arlington TX, Karen L. Cohens (Fred) of Clarksville TN, and Cynthia Hughes Baldwin, also of Clarksville TN, along with one special niece/daughter - Dionne (Dee) L. Wilson of Conroe, TX (Dukimee). Also left to cherish her memories are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday July 31, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at First Assembly of God by Pastor Jordan Blann. The Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff. Her body will lie in-state from 1:15 until service time.
