Geraldine B. "Geri" Ireland

Geri Brigid Ireland, 66 of Beaverton, died Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2025, at her home. She was born February 3, 1959, in Ardee, County Louth, Ireland, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Finnegan) Ward. Geri was raised in Ireland and was part of a large Irish-Catholic family. She met her husband Charles Lego Ireland, II while he served with the United States Army in Germany, and on February 16, 1980, she married Charles in Roseville. Geri worked as a medical assistant in physician's offices; she enjoyed knitting gifts for her family, cooking, doing crafts, fishing off her lake property, and listening to the Irish Rovers. She was an amazing mother, wife, and sister; she always supported her children's sports and her husband with everything they were involved in. She volunteered for over 12 years in her son's Boy Scouts Troops and always made it a priority to keep in touch with her family in Ireland. Geri also supported her husband and her son's time spent while enlisted in the Air National Guard, she volunteered in veteran's groups including AMVETS.
She is survived by her husband Charles Ireland, II of Beaverton; sons, Charlie Ireland of Beaverton, and Sean (Elyse) Ireland of Marshfield, MA; grandchildren, Sean, Jr., Elle, and Josephine; brothers, Patrick, John, Bernard, and Martin, all of Ireland, and sisters, Eve of Perth Australia, and Kay of Ireland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Nioclas Thomas Ireland, a brother Gerard, and sisters, Marie, Margaret, and Alice.
Memorial services for Geri will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, from the First Presbyterian Church in Beaverton, 201 S. Ross St. P.O. Box 424, Beaverton, MI 48612. Geri's family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service.
