Betty Ann (Byron) Ireland, 91
Betty Ann Ireland died July 28, 2025. She was born on March 23, 1934 in Danville, Illinois. A resident of Okeechobee since 1991, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered with the blood bank. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and fishing.
Mrs. Ireland was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Byron; father, Charlie Byron; and sister, Sally Welker.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Dale R. Ireland, of Okeechobee, Florida; son, Rich Ireland (Debra), of Kissimmee, Florida; daughters, Brenda Kuhn, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Diana Heil, of Sebring, Florida, and Betty Priore (Don), of Port St. Lucie, Florida; four grandchildren, Lee Jenkins (Biaggia), Brandon Kuhn, Jennifer Heil, and Aiden Collins; cousin that was like a sister to Betty, Norma Emling; nephews, Bob Welker (Pat) and Dennis Thomas; and niece, Carolyn Walls.
The family would like to thank the staff of Okeechobee Senior Services and Hospice of Okeechobee.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
