Geraldine Ann Mikulka

Geraldine S. "Gerry" Mikulka, 87 of Simsbury, Connecticut, passed peacefully away leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and boundless creativity. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her, from her cherished family to her well-loved pets and the wild creatures she nurtured in her garden.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Gerry lived a life marked by love, independence, and joy. She found her perfect match in her life partner, Robert "Bob" Farrand of Andover, Connecticut with whom she shared countless adventures. Together, they created beautiful memories, boating on weekends, walking the windswept beaches of Block Island, hiking the trails of Connecticut, and enjoying the company of dear friends. Gerry's greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly Knox (Peter Macdonald) of West Hartford, Linda Knox of Newport, Rhode Island, and George Knox of Seattle, Washington. Her role as grandmother brought her immense happiness, and she never missed an opportunity to support and celebrate her grandchildren: Casey Macdonald (Peter Durbin), John Macdonald (Jane Winsett), William Macdonald, Matthew Juliano, Ryan Juliano, Savannah Knox and three great-granddaughters, Autumn, Clementine, and Maeve. She was adored for her extraordinary ability to spread joy through wildly creative gifts and games.
A passionate gardener, Gerry found peace and purpose tending to her yard. Her love for animals was legendary, from her beloved pets Mitzi and Dusty to the koi fish that transformed her kitchen into an aquatic sanctuary. She delighted in caring for the local wildlife, maintaining birdhouses and feeders, and watching with joy as nature flourished under her careful attention.
Gerry brought her remarkable gift of creativity and humor to everything she touched, enriching the lives of all who knew her. Her family will celebrate her life in a private ceremony, with the interment to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
A Graveside Service will take place in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT. Friday, January 03, 2024 at 12:00pm.
