HUDSON FALLS - Geraldine "Gerri" (Rivers) Shine, 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, with her loving son, Daniel, by her side.
Born on May 11, 1929, in Fennimore, she is the daughter of the late Darwin and Madeline (Hurd) Rivers.
Gerri married Daniel Shine and they were happily married until his passing in 2000.
An amazing woman, wife, and mother has left us. She was bold of spirit and abundantly kind of heart throughout her life. Her legacy of incredible love and strength will be remembered by those who knew her and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gerri was predeceased by her son, Matthew Shine.
Left to cherish her memory include her children: Mark (Janis) Measeck, Lynne (Leo) McCrann, Dean (Mary) Measeck, Daniel Patrick Shine II, Shane Maynard, Howard (Lisa) Weller; her grandchildren: Heather, Sean, Rebecca; great-grandchildren: Jack, Ryker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
A graveside service will be conducted after calling hours at the Union Cemetery in Fort Edward.
Donations in Gerri's memory can be made to the South Glens Falls Wrestling Program, 38 Chestnut Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
