Geraldine "Gerri" E. Waldo (nee Shaw), 93, of Elyria, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Gerri was born on May 9, 1932, in Mt. Gilead, OH to Ralph and Mildred (nee Burnell) Shaw.

Gerri attended Mt. Gilead High School and graduated in 1949, during her senior year, she furthered her studies in Cosmetology School. Using her skills in cosmetology, Gerri worked for local beauty salons for 47 years.

Gerri was a faithful member of the Abbe Rd. Baptist Church in Elyria. Along with her husband, James Waldo, they served several missions in New Mexico building churches and spreading the word of God. Gerri was an Awana Leader and was the cofounder of the Sheperd's Program for elementary students.

She loved playing bingo, working on puzzles and cooking.

Surviving members of Gerri's family include her children Reverend James Thomas Waldo (Diane) of Enon, OH, Jeffrey A. Waldo of Findlay, OH and David M. Waldo (Mindy Larson) of Elyria, OH; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, James T. Waldo, daughters Leslie A. Waldo and Pamela S. Waldo-Childs, granddaughter Brittany N. Waldo, parents Ralph and Mildred Shaw, and sister Vivan Jordan.

At the request of Gerri, a private graveside services will be held at a later date.
