Gerard John Mader (Jerry Mader) age 91, passed away on October 14, 2025, at The Club at Boynton Beach, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Jerry was born July 9,1934, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a son to Peter J. and Teresa M. Mader. Jerry obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from DePaul University. He went on to obtain his C.P.A. license and spent his career as an accountant in the public and private sector. He served his country in the United States Navy.
Jerry's hobbies included playing tennis, taking long bike rides along Lake Michigan and meeting his friends at the local coffee shop. Jerry enjoyed live entertainment, dancing, and chocolate.
After retirement, Jerry spent summers in Chicago and winters in Florida. He spent the last two and a half years residing at The Club at Boynton Beach in Florida.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Tom, and sisters, Mary Jane and Therese. He is survived by his sister Bernadette Davel, former wife Gloria DeSimone, sister-in-law Rae Mader, and his six children, Anthony Mader (Kim Wilber-Mader), Mary Sperlazza (James), Geralyn Ferger (David), Patricia Mader (Brent Eastep), Peter (Caleb) DeSimone and Aaron Goodman (Shireen Lum), along with his grandchildren, Eric, Daniel, Ella, Benjamin and Nathan. They and other family members and friends will sadly miss him.
Jerry's funeral will be held on November 15th at 11 am, at St. Benedict Catholic Church located at 2215 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago IL 60618.
