Gerard Joseph Whispell, 70 of 126 Virginia Lane, Den-Mar Gardens, Kulpmont passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 in his home.
Born at the former Ashland State Hospital, Butler Township on November 14, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert Whispell, Sr. and the late Barbara (Altomare) Whispell.
He was a 1972 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
On June 17, 1991 in Shamokin, he married the former Deborah Kruczynski who survives.
He was a retired tour bus driver having last been employed for Catawese Coach Lines, Inc.
Gerard was decorated United States Navy veteran.
He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church and the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Lawrence F. Schott, Council 628 both of Mount Carmel and the Atlas Fire Company.
Jerry was an avid fisherman and fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Lost Angeles Rams. He was an enthusiastic Mount Carmel Red Tornadoes football fan and always enjoyed attending their games.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-four years, Deborah Whispell are his children, Eric Friedman and his wife Kelly Corrow Friedman, Ashley Friedman and Lisa Whispell; grandchildren, Cameron, Ryann, Ava, Daniel, Robert, Coltin, and Michael; sisters, Jolene and Angela; brother, Robert Jr.; nephews, Robbie and William; great-niece, Mia; great-nephew, Christson; uncles and aunts, Leonard and Jackie Altomare, Michael and Mary Ann Katchick, and William and Sandy Whispell; and sister-in-law, Anette Kruczynski.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two brothers, Dennis and Joseph Whispell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with the Rev. Bernard Wamayose, AJ, Pastor officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:00 pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, 2001 Clinton Avenue, Coal Township, PA 17866 or Divine Redeemer Parish, 438 West Avenue, Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
