Gerda Elfriede Dreger
March 5, 1930 – November 22, 2024
Gerda Elfriede Dreger, age 94, of Hinckley, Ohio, passed away on November 22, 2024. Born on March 5, 1930, in Koenigsberg, East Prussia, Gerda lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends.
A homemaker by trade and heart, Gerda was known for her selflessness, generosity, and love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, and she will be dearly missed.
Gerda was an accomplished baker and had a passion for bowling, cooking, walking, golfing and gardening. A selfless and giving woman, she took immense pride in creating a warm and welcoming home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Siegfried Dreger, in 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kurt Droeger and Kaha Bischke. Her memory will be cherished by her loving children, Karin (David) Wolford and Herbert (Leslie) Dreger; grandchildren, Nicholas Wolford and Joseph Dreger; niece, Helga (Clemens) Halene; great-niece and nephews, Laeticia, Caspar, and Leander; and half-siblings, Margret (Heinrich) Roessner and Kurt (Daniela) Droeger and their families.
A graveside service will be held at Hope Memorial Gardens, 2447 Center Rd., Hinckley, at 12 noon, Friday, December 6, 2024. Please meet at the cemetery. In honor of Gerda, let us carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. The graveside service is open to all. We understand that timing, distance, health, or the weight of sadness may make it difficult to attend. If you're unable to join us, we would sincerely appreciate if you could take a moment to offer a prayer for our beloved Gerda from wherever you may be.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2928 Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113, or to Hospice of the Western Reserve of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
