Gerda Montey

Gerda Montey, age 83, of Ripon, WI passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side.

Gerda was born on October 15, 1941 in Germany and made her way to the United States in 1954 with her parents, Anna and Herman Bein. On June 18, 1960, Gerda married Gordon Montey, Sr., and together they raised a family and had 64 years together. Gordy was by her side to the end.

After retirement from Ripon Printers she continued her friendship with the group of ladies she worked with having monthly lunches. Babysitting her grandkids and traveling kept her busy. Many vacations with good friends over the years were cherished by Gerda.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon; children, Gordy, Jr. (Wendy) of Plymouth, WI, Tony (Tami) of Pennsylvania/Ripon, WI, and Julie (Orlyn) of Brandon, WI; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Erika of Kaukauna, WI and Anne of Germany; and other relatives and friends.

Gerda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and three sisters.

Gerda’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Hospice nurses and aides during this long journey, and a special thanks to JoEllen for everything and to Betty for being her best friend through all of these years.

Per Gerda’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
