Gertrude Anne Wetherington

Gertrude Anne Wetherginton of Keystone Heights, Florida, passed away on March 24, 2026. She was born on September 27, 1936 in Clara City, Minnesota to the late Harm and Catherine (Schipper) Peters. Mrs. Wetherington retired from the United States Postal Service after twenty years as a clerk. She was a life member of the Amvets Auxiliary. Gert loved spending her time playing golf.

She is survived by many neices and nephews, as well as her friend and caretaker, Dana Sampsell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph J. Tomas, and second husband, Bobby Wetherington; four brothers, Herman Peters, Edwin Peters, Albert Peters and Claus Peters; and two sisters, Gesina Ufkes and Martha Tomes.

A visitation for Gert will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 9:30am at Jones-Gallagher Funeral home, 340 E Walker Dr, Keystone Heights, FL 32656, with a service to follow at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Keystone Memorial Cemetery, 7304 State Route 100, Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
