Amy Greer Wetherington

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Amy Greer Wetherington on Wednesday February 11, 2026.

Amy was born on December 3, 1940 in Stella, NC. She was the first child of the late Mitchell Wetherington and Lula E. Wetherington. Surviving sisters; Bettie Welch, Janie Hopkins, and Janice Haynes. Brothers; Pete Wetherington, Louis Wetherington, and Donald Wetherington. She also has several nephews & nieces, and many lifetime friends.

Amy retired from the telephone company in 1994. She loved being outside enjoying nature, fishing and hunting with her brothers and friends. She was a volunteer with the Stella Volunteer Fire Department and also was a faithful volunteer at the Hem of His Garment in Swansboro. She loved helping her family and friends. She will be missed.

Services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home chapel Wednesday February 18, 2026 at 2:00pm following a private interment at the family cemetery.
