Leaving behind a loving wife, Sue Beddingfield; son, Gilbert and Tonya Wayland Beddingfield Jr.; daughters, LouAnn and Vurlon Johnson, Margaret and Chris Meier; son, John Wayne and Friend Tony; sisters, Cathy Perry, Hattie and Willie Fergerson; brother, Richard Beddingfield; grandchildren, Kelly, Kent Schwedler, Heather Beddingfield Downs, Lisa and Drew Isaacs, Lee Pittman, Kelly Johnson, Chris Jones, Wayland Beddingfield, Erica Jones; great grandchildren, Michael Jones, Lauren, Emerson, Autumn Schwedler, Paisley Pittman, Raelee Pittman, Jace, Daniella Pittman, Bentley Land; step daughters, Mary Sue and John Ashworth, Cheryl and Mike Reedy; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and Richard Wayland Beddingfield; brothers, Charles, Phillip, Kenneth Beddingfield; and sister, Jerry Beddingfield.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 6-8 PM at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Wake Forest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Wayland Beddingfield, Gregory Hunter, James Hilton, Junior Ray, Ronald O'Neal, Blake Ortigo, and Van Brag.
