Gilbert Bergeaux Obituary
BASILE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Gilbert Bergeaux announces his passing on Thursday, October 04, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 06, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant.
Gilbert was retired from the oilfield and after retirement he loved to go crawfishing. He enjoyed cooking and having company over but most of all he loved spending time his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him especially his beautiful wife of fifty eight years, Glenn Ardoin Bergeaux of Basile; his three loving sons, Darrell Bergeaux and wife, June, Ricky Bergeaux and wife, Paula and Patrick Bergeaux and wife, Christina all of Basile; his two loving daughters, Brenda McClelland and husband, Thomas and Pam Cormier and husband, Phil all of Basile; his brother, Carol Dupre and wife, Marie of Basile; two sisters, Barbara Hebert of Evangeline and Iris Miller of Eunice; his joys of his life, his fourteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Eva Klumpp Bergeaux and a sister, Loyce Hebert.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, October 05, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 06, 2018 from 7:00 am until time of services. The Catholic Daughters will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday.
