Gilbert Dumas

Gilbert Dumas 84, passed away peacefully at University Medical Center, New Orleans on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Mr. Dumas is survived by four children Anthony Dumas, Dedtrick Wise, Christopher Dumas, Margaret Ann Dumas, and the late Dawn Wise. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Gilbert also had a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends. Gilbert Dumas was a military veteran who served in the Army for six years where he earned several medals. He grew up in Slidell LA, the son of Herbert Dumas and Georgina Cummings Dumas. He attended St. Tammany High School. After his service in the army he attended Sidney N. Collier Vocational Tech School, graduated to become an Air Condition and Refrigeration Specialist. Gilbert also worked for Sears Auto Shop, Kaiser Aluminum, and the Convention Center. Family and friends are invited to attend the Viewing on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126.
