Gilbert Faz Gomez Obituary
He worked 19 years for Pacific Southern Foundries before proudly becoming a Correctional Officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation where he became affectionately known as Big Papa G. Gilbert retired in 2006 after serving 17 years in the Department.
Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Beatrice, daughter Bertha Barrera (Vidal), Son Gilbert Jr.(Ruby) Five grandchildren, one great grandchild, his son in law and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother and sisters.
Grandpa loved spending time with his family watching Dodger baseball, hanging out at the pool and making regular deposits at casinos with Grandma!
Services will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday, March 8th at San Clemente Mission Parish. 1305 Water St. Catholic burial shall immediately follow at Greenlawn Mortuary 3700 River Blvd.
