Rochester, NY: Gilbert passed away peacefully on February 24, 2023 at the age of 84. He is Predeceased by parents Raymond and Midge, Brothers Chuck, Chuck and Daniel and son Gilbert Jr (Heidi).
Gilbert is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Daniel (Diane) and Raymond (Josephine), daughters Paula and Dawn (Greg), brothers Ron (Shirley), Dave (Kay), and Little Jimmy, Grandchildren Zack, Shelby, Betsie, Kate, Trevor, Shaun, Amber, Damien, Daniel, Brittney, Kelsey, Danny and Josh, Great Grandchildren Zoe, Mia and Angelina, Best Friend Larry Dasher and Wife/ Niece Pixey, Many nieces and nephews and friends.
Born June 21, 1938 in Oswego NY, Gib served in the US Marine Corp. He worked at Bausch and Lomb where he also volunteered his time as a firefighter. Gib retired early due to an injury but that didn't stop him, he later worked with his son Ray and John Lodice. He took pride in his many woodworking projects which included the rebuilding of the top of the bar at the California Brew Haus. He loved to hunt and fish. You would never find Gib turning away a good card game. Gib was also a member of the Knights of Columbus men's club.
Many Thanks to the staff of the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center whose compassion helped Gib enter into eternal life. Gilbert's Mass will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10am at St John's the Evangelist Church located at 2400 Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14626.
