Gilbert Servi

Gilbert Servi, of Antigo, died on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 93 years old. He was born on July 2, 1932 in Antigo, a son of Charles and Clara (Fleischman) Servi. He married Rose Wierschke on October 11, 1952 in Antigo. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1991.
Gil was employed by Kretz Lumber for 50 years, he drove truck for 42 of those years and received a safety award for driving accident free. In addition to a Lifetime Service Award from the National Association of Small Trucking Companies. He retired in 2004.
Mr. Servi was a member of St. John Catholic Church and belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing black jack, and horses. In his later years he enjoyed crafting. His greatest joy was spending time with his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Dawn (Tom) Zarda of Mattoon, Kathy (Joe) Nelson of Pearson, and Diane Servi of Wittenberg; a son, Randy (Barb) Servi of Antigo; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Eckardt, Sr. of Birnamwood and Robert Wierschke of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bettack of Wisconsin Rapids.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Eckardt and Lorraine (Al) Grall; three brothers, Maynard (Rose), Conrad (Shirley), and Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Connie Wierschke; and a brother-in-law, Gene Bettack.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 7 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with the Very Rev. Joel Sember and Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall.
