Mary Ellen Kubacki, of Antigo, died on November 2, 2025 at Rosalia Gardens. She was 85 years old. She was born on June 2, 1940 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Russell and Claire (Chille) Lund. She married Kenneth Kubacki on September 4, 1965 in Milwaukee.
She was a graduate of Mercy High School in Milwaukee.
Mary had a long and fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. She attended Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing and received her nursing degree from Marquette University in 1961. She worked for Milwaukee County Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee. In 1975 she moved to Antigo and was employed at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center for over 30 years. She also worked in home health care. Her dedication and compassion as a nurse was unmatched.
She was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, involved in the Hockey Association and the AIDS task force. Mary was a volunteer for Avail and a Girl Scout leader.
Family was number one for Mary, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed walking, gardening, camping, crafts, and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ken; three daughters, Carrie (Dennis Duchac) Kubacki of Antigo, Kelly Kubacki of Tomahawk, Meghan (Michael) Anderson of Antigo; three sons, Christopher (Lisa) Kubacki of White Lake, Kevin (Susan) Kubacki of Antigo, Andrew (Nora) Kubacki of Waterford; twelve grandchildren, Joseph (Morgana) Kubacki, Danielle Kubacki, Noah Kubacki, Rebecca Kubacki, Emilee Kubacki, Evelyn LeVeque, Maxwell Kubacki, Marvin Duchac, Riley LeVeque, Marnie Kubacki, Madison Anderson, Miles Anderson; one great-grandchild, Colt John Kubacki; and a sister, Susan Miller of West Allis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Paul Lund.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Kamal Gopu officiating. Entombment will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6 at the Bradley Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Nightingale Ceremony at 7 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Friday, November 7 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
