Gilbert “Gil” Womack, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 in Arlington, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013. Burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where his wife, Sue, is buried.

Gilbert was born in Decatur, Texas on March 2, 1936 to Edna and Roy Womack. He grew up in the Paradise area, mostly in the Flatwoods Community. He graduated from Paradise High School in 1954, attended TCU and graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan in 1960.
Gilbert and Sue Sellman were married in Bridgeport, Texas on August 15,1959. They moved to Arlington in 1962 and had lived in Pantego since 1973. He served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by General Motors from June 1954 until September 1967, when he accepted employment with the LTV, later to become a part of Lockheed Martin. Gil retired from Lockheed Martin, Grand Prairie, in April 1998 as a Functional Planner in Engineering.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, in March 2017, his parents, Edna and Roy and his brother, Emmitt A. Womack. He is survived by daughters, Karen Clements and Sharon Duren (husband, Lance); Grandchildren, Katrina Clements, Brooke Williams (husband Donovan) and Trent Wilson and Trevor Wilson (Wife, Chelsea); and a host of nieces and nephews.
