Wade Funeral Home & Crematory - ArlingtonKayla Bren Davis, 81, of Granbury, Texas, joined her Lord and Savior on February 12th, 2026.
Kayla was born on February 25, 1944, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Bebe and Preston Banks. She graduated from John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas, in 1962, where she met her high school sweetheart, Martin Harrison Davis, in 1961. The two were married on June 9, 1962, beginning a beautiful marriage that would span 47 years.
Kayla and Martin made their home in Dallas in 1963 before settling in Arlington in 1968, where they raised their two daughters, Lisa Rene and Kimberly Kay. Kayla worked in the payroll department for Arlington ISD for many years, retiring in 2009. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and dedication to those around her.
Her greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She loved fishing, playing cards, camping, and traveling. She was a bright light to all, full of laughter, kindness and love with a special gift of storytelling that would bring tears of joy. After Martin’s passing in 2009, Kayla continued to embrace life fully, cherishing time spent traveling, playing cards, and making lasting memories with a special group of ladies she lovingly considered the sisters she never had.
Kayla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Harrison Davis; her daughter, Kimberly Kay McArthur; her parents, Bebe and Preston Banks; and her brother, Galen Banks.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Morton and husband Mark Morton of Granbury; her brother, Glenn Allen Banks of Dublin; her grandchildren, Marisa Morton Chastain and husband Ben Chastain; Blake Morton and wife Annabelle Staid Morton; Kayden McArthur; her great-grandchildren, Blaklyn and Breck Chastain, and Louise Morton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Kayla will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and the warmth and joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
