Gilberto "Gilbert" Arizola, age 79, of Birch Run Township, passed away peacefully at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw on Thursday, October 31, 2024, with family by his side. He was born on July 5, 1945, in Laredo, Texas to Adolfo and Benita (Segura) Arizola. Gilbert married the love of his life, Sandra Lich, on January 4, 1974, in Saginaw. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He also worked with General Motors for 39.5 years. Gilbert enjoyed golfing and playing pool. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored so much.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Sandra Arizola; children, Tamara (Ruben) Barrientos, Terri Arizola, Tim Husen, and Michelle (Danny) Swanson; grandchildren, Ruben A. (Madison), Antonio, LaTerria (Jennifer), TaTia, Amariana, Jennifer (Jeremy), Kyra (Rob), Meagan (Nathan), Billie (Shane), Justin (Desiree), and Joshua (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Hazel, Levi, Gavin, Henry, Connor, Anna, Elizabeth, Laila, North, Jameson, and Lila; one brother, Adolph (Linda) Arizola and many extended family members and friends.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hector Arizola.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Military honors will take place at the funeral home immediately following the service.
