Gilberto Sanchez Solis, of Uvalde, died August 6, 2024, at North Central Baptist hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born on July 22, 1947, in Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico, to Dora (Sanchez) and Gabriel Solis.
Gilberto is survived by his wife Maria Velasquez Solis of Uvalde; daughter, Jeannette Solis of Uvalde; sons, Luis Solis and wife, Laura, Gilbert Solis, Eric Solis all of Uvalde, Sergio Solis and wife Brenda of San Antonio, sister Graciela Sanchez and husband, Hector of Uvalde; brothers, Jesus Solis Sanchez, Gabriel Solis Sanchez, Alejandro Solis Sanchez, Sergio Solis Sanchez all of Saltillo, Mexico; grandchildren, Sophia Solis, Mariah Jaelyn Ovalle, Makaylah Ovalle, Samantha Christine Solis, Jennifer Alexis Solis, Sergio Solis, Jr., Cierra Lynn Solis, Julian Alexander Solis, Leighla Sierra Solis, Isabella Rose Solis, Jaelei Solis, Aryanna Marie Eades, and Christian Isaiah Eades.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Juanita Mendoza; and brother, Javier Solis.
Visitation will start Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday August 12, 2024, and on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alejandro Solis, Jesus Solis, Gabriel Solis, Gilbert Solis Sergio Solis and Luis Solis.
