Gillian Elizabeth "Jill" Ledesma

Gillian Elizabeth Ledesma, affectionately known as Jill, passed away at the age of 81 on November 22, 2025.
Born the daughter of Wynham and Irene (Emery) Muncey on October 8, 1944, in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Jill was an adventurous spirit and a dedicated individual who never shied away from a new experience. After spending her youth in the tranquil landscapes of Oregon and the tropical paradise of Hawaii, she found her calling in the skies as a Flight Attendant. For 30 years, she shared stories and smiles with countless passengers, her spirited nature shining through in every interaction.
In addition to her aviation career, Jill was an entrepreneur, owning Balloon Occasions in Wellington, Kansas for many years. Even while working for the airlines, she dedicated her time and energy to her business, showcasing her commitment and love for her community. Upon retiring, she used her loving touch to provide comfort as a massage therapist. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant personality, from making the best homemade fudge to collecting Barbie dolls and anything related to Mickey Mouse or Disney. Jill's dedication was also evident in her service to the St. John's Lutheran Church in Wellington, where she served as their treasurer and on the Board of Trustees.
In her personal life, Jill was a woman of strong love and commitment. On April 22, 1981, she married the love of her life, John Ledesma, and they spent 34 beautiful years together before his passing in 2015. Her adventurous spirit, dedicated service, and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Jill's love lives on in those she left behind, including her sister, Judy Nusbaum; niece, Wyndie (Brett) Carter; great nephew, Wesley Carter; great niece, Hailey Carter; step children: Karen (Todd) Whaley; Patrick (Kathy) Ledesma; Debi (Tom) Cox; Chris (Valerie) Ledesma; Jay (Linda) Ledesma; Melaine (Randy) Dawson-Cox; 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wynham and Irene Muncey; husband, John Ledesma; step son, John M. Ledesma; nephew, Don Nusbaum; grandchildren, Chris Boston and Kelly Cox; great grandchildren, Kiersten Glenn and Braelynn Beebe.
Memorial services for Jill will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 1031 Mission Rd., Wellington, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
