Bobby Lee "Bob" Helpingstine, of Wellington, Kansas passed away on tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the age of 68.
Bob was born the son of Mark and Ivy (Hiatt) Helpingstine on June 29, 1957 in Ridgecrest, California.
A beacon of dedication and loyalty, Bob, left an indelible mark on our hearts. Bob's zest for life was infectious. As a highly skilled welder and fabricator, his craftsmanship stood out in every construction machinery project he managed. Outside his professional life, Bob was a hard worker with a spirit that was always ready to take on the next project, even if it remained unfinished. His love for collecting tools was not just a hobby, but a testament to his dedication to his craft.
Bob's most cherished roles were those within his family. A beloved husband to Vickie Helpingstine since November 16, 1976, the joy they shared was boundless. Bob was a selfless person, always quick to help others, especially his next-door neighbor, reflecting his nurturing spirit. He was a masterful cook, delighting his family with meals prepared from scratch, a testament to his commitment to providing the best for those he loved. His love for his dogs was unparalleled, caring for them with a gentleness that was inspiring. He had a knack for making people smile, always ready with a smart-aleck comment. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were precious to him, embodying his belief that family was the most important thing in life.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Helpingstine of Wellington, KS; children: Jason (Brittany) Helpingstine of Wellington, KS; Chelsea (Ryan) Ricke of Wellington, KS; Cody (Jeni) Helpingstine of Wellington, KS; grandchildren: Corbin Helpingstine of Wichita, KS; Andrew Helpingstine of Red Oak, IA; Hunter Ricke of Wellington, KS; Zayden Helpingstine of Wellington, KS; Zoe Ricke of Wellington, KS; great grandchildren, Rosie Helpingstine of Wichita, KS; Rory Helpingstine of Wichita, KS; sister, Dena (Ray) Purdy of Blackwell, OK; brothers, Mark (Diane) Helpingstine of Holcomb, KS; and Mike (Kimberly) Helpingstine of Sikeston, MO.
