Ginger Rose Holland, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2025, joining her mother, sisters, and other cherished family members in eternal rest. Howard, her husband of 33 years and love of her life, was by her side throughout their journey together, and their bond will always be remembered. Ginger's gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep love for her family will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth, love, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Ginger was born and raised in Longview, where she proudly graduated from Longview High School. She went on to have a remarkable career at Brookshire's, becoming a well-known and beloved figure in the community. Throughout her time with the company, Ginger's dedication and exceptional work ethic earned her frequent recognition and numerous accolades. Her commitment to excellence and her caring nature made a lasting impact on both her colleagues and customers.
She had a deep love for travel, often exploring new destinations with her beloved husband. Whether cruising through the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska or relaxing on the sun-kissed shores of Hawaii and the Caribbean, Ginger was always in her element when discovering new places and making cherished memories with Howard by her side. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life made each trip an unforgettable experience, and she carried the joy of those travels in her heart.
Ginger was also known for her immense love of cooking, and she shined as a chef in her own right. Her passion for preparing meals brought joy to countless gatherings, and her culinary skills were cherished by all who had the pleasure of enjoying her creations.
Most importantly, Ginger had an unwavering love for God, a faith that was reflected in every aspect of her life. Her compassion, kindness, and generosity were a testament to her deep spiritual devotion. She lived her life with grace and integrity, always striving to serve others and spread love in all that she did. Ginger's faith was her guiding light, and it shaped the way she loved and cared for her family, friends, and community.
Ginger was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Myrtle Dean Bledsoe, and sisters Hazel Dean Hughes and Dorothy Jane Miller. She is survived by her husband Howard, son Wayne Barber and his wife Amanda, daughter Susan Mixon, son Paul Barber and his wife Renee, son Dale Barber, sister Lou and her husband Mike McMahon, stepchildren Kendra and husband Scott, Adam and wife Catherine, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to caretaker Julia Boyd, Prime Care Hospice, and Amanda Barber for her benevolence and loving care over the past few years.
