Giovani Amores

Giovani Amores passed away unexpectedly in Queens, NY on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was just 18 years old.
Born in Hoboken, Giovani grew up in Jersey City and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 2025. This past August, he began a new chapter at St. John's University, filled with excitement and ambition for the future. Giovani was proud to take this next step, eager to learn, make new friends and pursue his dreams.
From a young age Giovani's energy and laughter brought warmth wherever he went. He had an incredible gift for lifting people's spirits – his humor, kindness and easy smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved music, sports, fashion and spending time with his friends and family, but above all he loved connecting with people and making them feel seen and valued.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Elizer and Yolaida Amores; his loving brothers Gabriel and Grayson and his cherished grandparents. He will also be remembered with endless love by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, Fanwood, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23rd at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Though his life was heartbreakingly short, Giovani's light was radiant – his compassion, humor and joy will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends take comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind and in knowing that his spirit will always be with them.
