Garry Lepinsky, a longtime resident of Fanwood, passed away in Holmdel on October 12, 2025 at the age of 64.
Garry was born in Overlook Hospital in Summit to Demetre and Christine Lepinsky. He spent his childhood and most of his life in Fanwood. He graduated Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School and was a star athlete leading the Baseball team to a State championship, he was on the Wrestling team and played on the Football team leading the team to defeat Westfield, the first time in 19 years. He was captain of all three sports. His love of sports stayed with him through the years. He attended Wilkes Barre College.
Garry was a seasoned professional in the construction sector. His greatest joy, however, was working with young people helping them improve their skills in sports and develop confidence. He also enjoyed surf fishing and would spend time fishing with his nephews and nieces. He especially enjoyed cooking, particularly grilling on the barbeque.
Garry will be remembered for being a friendly, caring neighbor, treating all with kindness and respect. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and his nephews and nieces.
Garry is predeceased by his parents, Demetre and Christine and his niece Cathleen D'Arpa. He is survived by his siblings Bill and Carol Lepinsky; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Lela Tamayo, Michelle Olivares, Frankie D'Arpa and Kristan-Scott D'Arpa.
Funeral services for Garry were held privately. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.
