In Loving Memory

We are saddened to announce the passing of Giovanni Gagliardotto, who left us on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the age of 79. He departed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Polizzi Generosa, Sicily, Italy, Giovanni was the beloved child of Santo Gagliardotto and Grazia D’Angelo. He grew up in Polizzi Generosa, where he developed a love for gardening, cooking and climbing mountains.

Giovanni was a devoted spouse to Aurea and a loving parent to Dennis and Michael. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and his vegetable garden, and found joy in spending time with family and friends. Giovanni will be remembered for his good sense of humor, friendliness and energy, and for the way he touched the lives of everyone he met.

Giovanni is survived by his wife Aurea and his sons, Dennis and Michael, his sister Domenica (Giuseppe), his sister Salvatrice (Filippo), and his brother Gandolfo (Gladys), and many nephews and nieces, and preceded in death by his parents, Santo and Grazia, his sister Maria (Gandolfo), and brothers Giuseppe (Giovanna) and Antonino. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday December 13, 2025 at Walker’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsborough, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday at 10:00am to 11:30 am prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Giovanni. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.

May Giovanni rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
