Gisela J. Zike passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Czechoslovakia in August 1928 she lived a glorious 96 years. She was married to Robert L. Zike for 62 years, separated only by death. They were members of the Hoosier Power Squadron, Indiana Air Stream Club and the Indianapolis Yacht Club. She met Robert in 1947 at the end of WWII in Germany where he whisked her away to become his bride and proudly became an American Citizen. She loved to cook and bake and was a cook for the Lawrence Township school system for over 10 years.
Together they had 4 children (Eric Zike (deceased), Jerry Zike and wife Sherry, Peggy Zike and Barbara Faunce, husband Jay), 3 grandchildren (Kristina Zike, Tim Zike and wife Cara, Sarah Zike), and 6 great grandchildren (Sam, Cora, Amelia, Ruby, Leo and Maren).
Gisela leaves us with heavy hearts for our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, but we know she is blessed and happy to spend eternity with her beloved husband, son, and other family and friends.
