Givliana Ruegge

With loving memory and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Givlianna "Julie" Ruegge on August 20, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 70. Julie's journey began on February 2, 1955, in Udine, Italy, born to Anna Ruegge and the late William Ruegge, Sr. Her free spirit was unmistakable, evident in her style of tie-dye, denim, and silver biker jewelry. But this was just the surface of a deeply caring and curious person, someone who balanced a dry joke with an earnest question and always made a point to ask after others. This deep-seated care was the source of her unwavering resolve. Once her mind was set, she was unstoppable. She was the anchor of the Ruegge Thanksgiving each year and kept her weekly phone calls with her brothers, Joe and Billy, like clockwork. After her brother Joe passed earlier this year, she continued that Thursday call to his son, her nephew Alex, a testament to her caring nature. This same powerful commitment extended to her career as a dedicated employee at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, where she worked until her final days. Julie will be profoundly missed by her family and friends alike. She leaves behind her loving mother, Anna Ruegge; brother, William Ruegge, Jr.; nieces, Amanda Ruegge and Chelsey Snider; and nephews, Alex Ruegge and Anthony Ruegge. Also left to cherish her memory are her dear friends Sheila Crofton, Margaret Travis, and Faye Gilmore, who were like family to her. She is now reunited with her father, William Ruegge, Sr.; her siblings, John, Joseph, and Kathleen; and her nephew, John, Jr. Julie was a hard-working, caring person, and the light she shone on the lives of those around her will live on through those who knew her.
