Gladys Wentling Blank, 88, of Forest, Virginia passed away on November 14, 2024.
She was born on November 8, 1936, in Jonestown, Pennsylvania to the late Rev. Ralph and Helen Wentling.
Gladys held a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University, Millersville, PA. Following her college graduation on June 14, 1958, she married Richard Blank, and then taught in the Pine Grove, PA, Elementary School for three years, until the birth of their first born, Glenn. She continued as a substitute teacher. In 1964, she, her husband and Glenn moved to Turbeville, SC to serve in ministry. During the 54 years of her husband's ministry in Turbeville, SC, Gladys served in the position of organist and choir director. She also taught organ and piano.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and by her daughter, Maryann Blank Lee.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Richard G. Blank; her two sons, Glenn A. and Susan Blank, of Elberta, Alabama, and Bradley D. and Heather Blank of Forest, Virginia; her son-in-law, Ron Lee of Turbeville, SC; her grandchildren Aaron P. Blank, Lenore M. Blank, and Andrew W. Blank; her sisters, Eileen and Charles Landis of Manheim, Pennsylvania, and Phyllis Sanders of Lake Wales, Florida; and many loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 10am on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church with inurnment to follow in the church's cemetery.
A visitation will be held beginning at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in the fellowship hall of the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank Linda Coulter for her loving, tender, and caring service for the last six months of Gladys's life and the Gentle Shepherd Hospice staff for their loving care during her last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church Missions Committee, P O Box 233, Turbeville, SC 29162.
