Gladys Ciszewski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Wittenberg on Jan. 3, 2025.
Gladys A. Ciszewski, 85, residing at Renaissance in Weston, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with her children holding her hands.
Gladys was born on March 6, 1939, the daughter of Felix and Natalie (Kostka) Tuskowski.
On September 27, 1958, Gladys was united in marriage to Norbert Ciszewski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2007.
Gladys was very smart, excelling through school and graduating from Rosholt High School at the age of 16. She then entered the workforce early, kickstarting a career that included working at law firms for decades. Gladys enjoyed going to concerts, trips to the casino, playing bingo, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Going out to eat was a big joy in Gladys' life. She especially loved time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of her Polish heritage, and will be remembered for her strong-will.
Gladys is survived by four children, Pamela (Doug) Fischer of Birnamwood, Brian Ciszewski of Bevent, Brenda (Tom) Vandehey of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Tim (Pamela) Ciszewski of Wausau; five grandsons, Keith (Sam) Wanta, Kiel Wanta, Zach Ciszewski, Cody (Paige) Ciszewski and Jayden Kowalski; one granddaughter, Meg Vandehey; six great grandchildren, Rian, Jace, Kylen, Jaelyn, Wren and Mac, and brothers, Arlen (Sue) Tuskowski and Gary (Debbie) Tuskowski.
Gladys was also preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Donna; brother, Dennis; step-grandson, Derek; nephew Travis and special friend, Sue.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Sister Mary Ellen Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 9 AM until the time of service, with the Rosary being recited at 9 AM.
Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories and messages of support may be shared at schmidtschulta.com.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Aspirus Palliative Care; and to Susan Janas, Gladys' very special caregiver the past 2 1/2 years, who she loved like a granddaughter.
