Gladys B. Lewis

Gladys B. Lewis, 96, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Hampstead, North Carolina. She was born on July 4, 1929, in New Bern, North Carolina.

Gladys graduated from New Bern High School and was a longtime member of Croatan Presbyterian Church. She built a distinguished career at First American Bank, where she served as Vice President and was known for her dedication and steady leadership.

She enjoyed painting and shopping, simple joys that brightened her days and gave her a chance to express herself. Her artwork was often displayed throughout her home and shared with her loved ones, leaving them with special pieces to remember her by.

Gladys met her husband, James Lewis, at a football game, and together they built a life filled with love and family. She was also preceded in death by James, along with her two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son, James K. Lewis II, and his wife, Kelee. She is also remembered with love by her grandchildren, Haylee Lewis, Ashlee Lewis, and Michael White and wife Christina, and her great-grandchildren, Landon, Gavin, Lilyann, and Avalynn.

No services are planned at this time. The family is thankful for the kindness and support of friends and neighbors.

Gladys will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and the lasting imprint she left on her family.
