Glenda Harris Joyner, 69, received her Home Going Day on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 AM until the funeral hour.

Glenda spent her early years in Pitt County before moving to New Bern, where she graduated from New Bern High School. She lived most of her adult life in the Raleigh area. She worked as a medical transcriptionist with Raleigh Community Hospital for a number of years and retired from Sprint, where she worked in property management. Glenda attended St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church while caring for her parents in Greenville and most recently attended Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wilson. She loved shopping and looking her best and was a devoted mother and grandmother

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Evelyn Harris; and half-sister, Barbara Williams.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Joyner and wife, Brittany; granddaughter, Karlie Joyner; grand-dog, Roxy; brother, Rev. Danny Harris and wife, Diane, nieces, Danielle Dixon and husband, Rev. Greg Dixon; Leslie Tignor and husband, Rev. Michael Tignor; nephew, Jeff Williams and wife, Amy; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and special cousins, J.F. "Bud" Harris and wife, Norma, Pam Dupree and husband, Dempsey, Terri Dickerson and husband, Tim, and Tammy Alford and husband, Don.
