Surrounded by the love of his family and the Holy Spirit, James "Ralph" Joyner, age 84, went to be with our Lord on August 9th, 2025. Ralph was a resident of Lenoir City, Tennessee for the past 4 years and resided in Jackson, Tennessee for 15 years prior to moving to Lenoir City. He was raised in Carroll County, Tennessee and resided there most of his life.

Ralph was a member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir City. Before moving to Lenoir City, he was an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee and an active member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon, TN prior to moving to Jackson.

Ralph loved spending time with family and friends. Even during times of sickness, he would always have joy when family and friends came to visit. He loved playing golf and loved spending time with the family dog "Joy", whose name is most fitting given the amount of comfort she provided. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy as a Seaman on the USS Salinan.

Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother, Homer and Rue Joyner of Huntingdon, Tennessee. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Sonja Joyner, his son Jason Joyner and wife Jill, daughter Karen and husband Kent Leach. He leaves behind 5 beautiful and loving grandchildren: Kade, Kolby and Kylie Leach and Rylan and Grace Joyner.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12th from 12 noon til 1 p.m. at Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Harding officiating. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City.

We love you "Papa" and will be forever grateful for the example and the love you provided to all of us.
