Gladys (Eldridge) McSorley, 81, joined her husband and other family in Heaven on, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Deltona, Florida. She was born in Harlan, Kentucky on February 11, 1944 to Floyd and Lola (Creech) Eldridge. She married the love of her life, Charles McSorley on December 13, 1965, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. They were married almost 59 wonderful years before his passing October 4, 2024. She retired from the County Sheriff’s Office in 2005, after 8 years in the medical department. She was a proud member Center Grove Baptist Church in Phlox, Indiana; where her and Chuck spent several summers. They were baptized August 28, 2011.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Melody Johnson (Nathon); son, Allen McSorley; sisters, Sue Jones, Mary “Bootchie” Sanson, and Marie Foley; brother Skip Eldridge; her 5 grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles McSorley; sisters, Hazel Scott, Lillie “Bug” Agler, Ruby Iten, Wilma Jean Eldridge, and Mabel Shuler; brothers Milburn “Mib” Eldridge, and James Eldridge. Services for Gladys will be held 01/12/2026 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park Visitation will take place from 12:30 until 1:30pm; A graveside ceremony will begin at 2pm to be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, where Gladys will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund, Center Grove Baptist Church through the funeral home or to the Center Grove Baptist Church, 5620 N. 725 E., Windfall, IN 46076
