Madawaska--- Gladys Miranda passed away peacefully at her home in her sleep in November of 2025. She was born in Van Buren, Maine, on April 14, 1943, to the late Pea and Gloria (Roussel) Morneault.

Gladys was a woman of deep and abiding faith, always keeping her rosary beads close at hand and offering prayers daily for family, friends, and even strangers. She found beauty and joy in life's simple moments - reading, playing cards and board games, listening to music, and dancing whenever she could. A talented cook and baker, she loved preparing meals and treats to share with those around her. Her fur-babies were never far from her side, bringing warmth, companionship, and laughter into her home.

Gladys had a wonderful sense of creativity and tradition. She loved collecting Emmett Kelly figurines and teddy bears, each one holding a special memory. During the holidays, she especially enjoyed setting up her Christmas village, taking delight in arranging every little detail and basking in its glow throughout the season.

Professionally, Gladys worked for many years at WSJR Radio, where she was part of the station from its opening day until it went off the air. She later joined Fraser Papers, where she worked until her retirement. She took great pride in her work and the friendships she made, always bringing a positive spirit, dedication, and kindness to those around her.

Her greatest joy, however, came from her family - especially her grandchildren, Christopher and Nicolette, who lit up her heart. She cherished them as if they were her own children and was immensely proud of the young adults they had become.

Gladys is survived by her loving daughter, Gina (fiancé Jacques), and her beloved grandchildren, Christopher and Nicolette, all of Madawaska. She was predeceased by her parents, Pea and Gloria Morneault, and her brother, O'Neil.

She also shared a special bond with her neighbor and dear friend Mike Fortin (and wife Deb), whose kindness and laughter brought joy and comfort to her life.

Gladys will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to faith and family, her love of music and laughter, and the warmth she brought to every gathering. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the spring.
