Gladys Peterik, age 90, entered eternal life on Friday morning, April 12, 2024. Gladys was a former rural Two Rivers resident and for the past year was welcomed to live with her daughter, Donna. Recent failing health issues forced her to the Manitowoc Health Care Center.
Gladys was born in the town of Kossuth on April 1, 1934 to Harry and Agnes Duchon Havlichek. She graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1952. On February 27, 1954, she married Robert Peterik at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with four daughters and 54 years of marriage. Gladys and Robert farmed for many years until retiring. Robert preceded her in death on May 31, 2008. Gladys was a longtime member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers.
She is survived by three daughters and four sons-in-law: Donna (Warren) Wiltman of Mishicot, Christine (Robert) Tuma, town of Kossuth, Carol (Keith) Voelker of Mishicot, and Patrick Lorenz, town of Kossuth; nine grandchildren: Jacqueline (Jeremy) Sehloff, Lindsay Lorenz, Anthony Lorenz, Michael Wiltman, Andrew (Abigail) Wiltman, Scott Tuma, Ryan (Nicole) Tuma, Sarah (Jonathon) Benzing, Kimberly (Daniel) Funk; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 foster great-grandchildren; nieces, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Agnes Havlichek; her husband, Robert; one daughter, Joan Lorenz; a great-granddaughter, Danica Wiltman; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sharon Havlichek; two brothers-in-law: Nicholas (Catherine) Peterik and Ivan (Lillian) Peterik; and by her father-in-law & mother-in-law, John and Mary Peterik.
A private funeral mass was held for Gladys at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Entombment followed in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
The Peterik family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, especially Kim and Kristin for the wonderful compassionate care given to our mother. Special thanks also to Chaplain, Paul Gleichner for his kindness and comforting prayers.
