He is also survived by his daughter, Kyleigh of Athens, Illinois, brother Darell (and Suzanne) Baum of Athens, Illinois, his uncle and aunt Ron and Linda Ferricks, and nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Baum was raised in Athens, Illinois and graduated from Athens High School in 1988. He retired from the Illinois Department of Conservation in 2022 with 34 years of service. He has since been employed with AC McCartney Equipment Sales.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Glen's memory may be given to the Havana Church of Christ, Havana, Illinois, and may be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home, PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501

Only met Glen once but despite the pain he was in, he was one of the kindest and friendliest man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. A true follower of Christ! Peace and comfort to his family.

It was always a treat running into Glen. We would run into him out having a cocktail and at New Salem many moons ago. He always had a story to tell and an infectious laugh. I remember him dressing as a rubber tree for Halloween one year. He had so much fun!
He will be missed by many. Sending our condolences to his family.

Glen you will be so missed. We were not just friends but considered you family from when we were little. You were my church buddy, my Whirlybird youth group buddy. You always knew what to say and we always had fun. Praying for the entire family. Until we meet again.
