Glen R. Burke

Glen Ronald Burke, age 82, of Lansing, NY passed away October 1, 2022 as a result of a heart attack while bow hunting. Ron was born to Martin and Virginia Burke on September 29, 1940 in Ludlowville, NY. He attended Lansing Central School District. He was a carrier supervisor for the US Post Office for 31 years. Ron was proud of his Polish heritage and also very proud of his service in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of the Ithaca Elks and the Lansing Rod & Gun Club.
Ronnie was predeceased by his loving wife Jerry of 61 years. He is survived by his children, Lisa (James) Proper, Scott Burke and Wendy (Randy) Zukowski; Grandchildren, Mark Proper, Kelly (Keegan) McCarty, Ryan (Kelsy) Earl, Nicole Earl & Isabella Sharp; Great-granddaughter Harper Earl; sister Verla Gabriel, brother Carl (Dottie) Burke; many nieces, nephews and many close & dear friends.
Ron and Jerry enjoyed traveling together and relished their summers on Owasco Lake and their winters in Florida. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, gardening and berry picking along with playing cards with family and friends. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to his time spent at the deer barn with the boys! We have all benefitted greatly from his excellent carpentry skills.
His family will deeply miss his stories, singing and the whistling that never ended.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at All Saints Church in Lansing. Calling hours will be at Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden on Friday, October 7th from 4-7. Please consider donating to the Lansing Food Pantry (PO Box 21) or a charity of your choice.
