Glen Ellison 80 of Canadian passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, July 25, 2025, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with Brother Rick Timmons, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Family and friend’s visitation will be 5:00 – 6:30 PM Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Glen Allen Ellison was born April 3, 1945, in Rotan to Miles Allen and Vera Mae Moore Ellison. He married JoAnn Poore on June 26, 1965, in Aspermont, they settled in the Canadian area in 1967. Glen and JoAnn were active in their boys’ activities during their growing up years. Glen was a member of the Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with his bird dogs, quail hunting, fishing, and tending his garden. Glen especially loved family vacations and playing with his grandkids and later great grandkids. He was a good dad that taught his boys a strong honest work ethic. Glenn worked as a Production Foreman for Shamrock Oil & Gas for 33 years. If asked his treasured accomplishments they would have been his boys, Allen and Keith and being married 60 years to JoAnn, the love of his life.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Miles A. & Vera Ellison and a brother Tommy Ellison.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, JoAnn Ellison of the home; sons, Allen and Bunny Ellison and Keith and Amy Ellison; grandchildren, Josh and Karissa Ellison, Tatum and Shane Swenhaugen, Tyler Ellison, and Daphne Wheeler; great grandchildren, Bexton and Witten Swenhaugen, Joshua, Audianna and Analica Ellison.
